I first started practicing yoga consistently at a local rec center right after I graduated from college. I enjoyed exploring the different postures, growing my strength and balance, and just having a designated time where I could set my world aside for an hour. But as I practiced year after year, once a week wasn’t enough for me and I started craving something more from my practice, I just wasn’t sure what that “more” was yet.

I found my way to Plymouth Yoga Room in 2018 to try out their classes, and I knew immediately after my first class that I had found what I was looking for. Being in that first class with everyone, feeling the heat build and hearing us all move and breathe as one really sold me. I found myself practicing more frequently during the week and finding solace on my mat. I grew a greater appreciation for my body and what it was capable of, rather than what the size of my body was. And most importantly, I grew to love the sense of community. I knew walking into the room that even if I didn’t know everyone practicing, I would still feel a sense of connection and belonging.

In 2021 I decided to take my practice a step further and I signed up to do the Spring Yoga Immersion program. I felt like the immersion program was the glue that helped put a whole bunch of puzzle pieces together in my life to help me see a much bigger picture that I could appreciate for all its parts. Moving on to become a teacher after the program has been such a joy. Anytime I end a class by saying, “My gratitude extends to all of you for allowing me to guide you” I mean it from the bottom of my heart. It is truly a gift to teach and be able to watch our students grow as they practice. I look forward to having you in my class. Namaste.
